A not so holly story

The following story is taken from the Bible Genesis 38

38:15 When Judah saw her, he thought she was a harlot because she had covered her face

38:16 Then he turned to her by the way and said "Please let me come into you" for he did not
know she was his daughter in law. So she said "What will you give that you may come into
me?"

38:17 And he said "I will send a young goat from the flock" So she said" Will you give a a pledge?"

38:18 Then he said "What pledge shall I give you?" So she said"Your signet and your staff that is
in your hand" Then he gave them to her and went into her and she conceived by him

Commentary

1. These are definitely not words of God. They are the words of copyists who tried to spice up
the Bible with tales of whore. This part of the Bible should be expunged
2. The story reflects the mentality, morality and values of Jews long ago
3. What message does the story contain
4. Why didn't the woman recognize her father in law?
