Cross Cultrure Marriages

I have seen American men who got married to Malaysian Muslim women they met on university campuses overseas. The parents of the Americans did not make an issue over it when their sons converted to Islam in order to marry Muslims. I get the impression that changing one's religion is like changing one's political affliation like a Democrat crossing over to Republican.Nothing unusual in the land of the free that worships freedom with a religious fervor.

I can only conclude that American do not have a firm grip on Christianity unlike Muslims who would hold on to their faith no matter what the circumstances are. There is a saying that you may own the world but it ain't worth a dime if you lose your soul.. I think Americans let go their faith easily because the Bible hardly mentioned God's retribution for breaking the covenant. On the other hand, the Quran keeps reminding us over and over the punishment for wrong doing and the reward for being righteusness.

Many years ago there was a case of a Muslim woman in Malaysia who wanted to convert to Christianity. It was a disaster for her parents and family. Newspeper talked about it for weeks. A Muslim is not free to change his/her religion. The West regard this as an infringement of human rights
