Of Revealation and Tradition

A Revealation is a holy book revealed by God to mankind through His prophets Moses, Jesus and Muhammad. Today the only revealation that still remains intact is the Holy Quraan. It's contents revealed 1,400 years ago remain unchanged. The Quraan one finds in Tehran is exactly the same as the one we find in Malaysia.

Another book on religious edicts often consulted by the Muslims is the Hadiths or Tradition. It is a collection of stories of what Prophet Muhammad did or said in his life time. Some of the stories in the Hadith or Tradition can be taken as true and some are false.

I have gone through the Bible - Old and New Testaments - superficially though and my over- all general impression is that the present day Bible is not a revelation of the same class as the Quraan but rather it is closer to Hadith or Tradition of previous prophets . Such being the case, some of the stories in the Bible are true and some might not be so.

In Islam a Hadith carries the name of the writer. So are the four Gospels in the Bible that carry the names of John, Luke, Mark and Matthew.
